An error occurred while saving the comment asailijhijr commentedDo you mean disabling pages from printing? It takes a bit of thinking about it (or printing it several times), but you can figure out which pages not to print an then not print them.
If you have a PDF editor, you can remove those pages outright, or replace them with blank pages.
If this isn't what you mean, you need to elaborate on your suggestion, it's not clear what you're asking for.

An error occurred while saving the comment asailijhijr commentedDepending on your printing setup, you can manually decrease the grid size (indirectly) by printing on a smaller print area or at a different scale, or printing multiple pages per sheet. Though this will drastically (multiplicatively) reduce your poster size, so you'll have to compensate for that in step 2. Also, you'll have to do a lot more cutting, because your printed "pages" will be small rectangles, several per piece of printed paper.
So my suggestion is far from a perfect solution, but it's achievable now.
What's the difference between a .psd file with only one layer and a .png image?
